The underarm folds and is often rubbed, so the settings are looked at separately. GentleMax Pro Plus is a device with a 755nm alexandrite and a 1064nm Nd:YAG. Which wavelength is used is decided during the exam, after looking at your hair and skin tone.
A device that picks between two wavelengths
The two wavelengths 755nm and 1064nm and the DCD cooling are specifications from Candela, the manufacturer. Hair thickness, hair depth and skin tone decide which one is used.

What is underarm hair removal?
A laser treatment in which pigment in the hair takes up the light and the heat reaches the root. The device holds both 755nm and 1064nm, and the choice follows a check of your hair and skin.
Does one session finish it? How is the interval set?
This is not a one session treatment. We look at how much hair is left and how your skin answered, then set the next strength and the gap; the number of rounds differs by person.
How much does it hurt?
Heat reaching the skin and a sting are both likely. Output and cooling are adjusted to how your skin answers, and the sensation itself varies by person.
Is there anything to be careful about?
Redness and swelling are common for a short while, and blisters or a change in color can occur, though rarely. Let us know beforehand about tanning, medications you are on and how past sessions went, and until the redness settles, cut back on activities with a lot of rubbing or sweating.
